Go from light air to storm conditions without the worry of changing sails!
One sail replaces an entire inventory of headsails.
Fewer crosscut seams to stretch and need restitching in a few years.
The outer sailcloth is heavier and can be UV treated, so it's made for the stronger winds and sun when reefed.
Made from two weights of Dacron, tested and matched to offer a perfect shape.
Includes foam luff pad, telltales, leechcord, area reduction marks, and sail bag.
The most durable sail on the market today. Durability means more strength, more strength offers superior speed.
Durability: Triangles are the weakness in conventional sails, since they cut across the strong yarns in the fabric. Instead, the Kappa Cut uses parallelograms which maintain the fabric's integrity. Sails made from parallelograms last twice as long as their triangular gored counterparts.
Better Strength: Overlapping parallelograms increase the strength factor. More overlaps in higher load areas eliminate heavy corner reinforcements. The result is a divergence of yarns from the corners that conform to the load pathways in the sail, so the sail stretches less.
Superior Speed: Kappa Sails flatten and have less drag than the competitor's sails as the wind increases, since the curved yarn paths straighten under load.
The Kappa Cut holds U.S. Patent No. 4,953,489
The most durable sail on the market today. Durability means more strength, more strength offers superior speed.
The Most Durable: Ask any other sailmaker if the Kappa Cut sail is the most durable sail on the market today. They will say "Yes", because the patented Kappa Cut overlapping panels are parallelograms not the triangular gores often found in their sails.
Better Strength: Sail cloth made into parallelograms is 75% stronger and deforms 88% less than triangular shapes.
Superior Speed: Kappa Sails flatten and have less drag than the competitor's sails as the wind increases, since the curved yarn paths straighten under load.
Provides significant improvements above the standard crosscut mainsail.
Improvement: The sail flattens as the breeze increases, since the threadline in the panels are rotated around a curve that straightens with more load.
Improvement: Optimized upper profile roach for maximum performance on all points of sail.
